Why does Janet teach Yogalates?

Having asked people to share their experience of Yoga or Pilates I was surprised by the replies.

For example:

I've tried in the past but didn't understand what I was doing or why

Pilates is for those recovering from injuries

Yoga is only for flexible fit youngsters

Having gained benefits from both Pilates & Yoga myself, I looked for a way in which I could help to enlighten these misconceptions and confusions.

I found Yogalates™ and created Mind Body Moment to teach this fabulously safe exercise method.

What makes Yogalates™ so unique?

Yogalates™ in simple terms, is a unique fusion of Pilates and Yoga.

This method teaches how to functionally combine the breath with exercises that work, or are adapted to work, with ones unique body type, therefore protecting the body against injury or pain.

It is a mindful practice; assisting in developing focus, calm and peace within both the body and mind.

Who is it suitable for?

Yogalates™ is suitable for everyone, from absolute beginners to practitioners who want to gain more from their regular practice of Yoga or Pilates.

Mind Body Moment - How it works

Step 1:

Start with a Welcome 121

a personal 60 minute class

Step 2:

Then join Mind Body Moment Classes

4 x 90-min weekly classes (max 8 clients per class)

Step 3:

Repeat Step 2, as your calendar permits

Mind Body Moment also provides Taster Classes, Workshops and Private Lessons

“I met Janet whilst she was on the Yogalates teacher training course in Tuscany. I was taking the week’s Yogalates retreat and was asked if it would be okay if Janet could practice a one-to-one class with me.
She told me about her background in dance and extensive knowledge of exercise generally and why she wanted to get involved with Yogalates explaining how great an exercise choice it was.
She added a really important dimension to my retreat, showing me that I was in fact pushing myself to do big moves before engaging with, and mastering, the basics. I am sure she saved me from not only doing myself a possible injury but also most definitely helped me get the most out of my classes by adjusting my posture and breathing during my poses.
At the end of the Yogalates classes we always take time to relax and the relaxation part of the exercise with Janet was fantastic too, it showed me how to really breathe properly and relax.
